DCs are the easiest way for someone to pay money to get ahead of someone else who doesn’t spend. You cannot do the same with mods or new toons: the former has too much rng and the latter doesn’t spit out new toons fast enough.

Idk, I have paid $0 for datacrons and don't lose because of them, but might win because of them. Seems to me it's like everything else in this game, where paying gets you more stuff and that stuff gives you an advantage. That stuff rarely guarantees a win.
