But what do you refresh after cantina? Is the new ship energy better than normal energy?
Ship energy doesn't count towards 600 raid tickets. But for high end players, ship energy is probably more worthwhile than regular energy. Regular energy you typically get enough throughout the course of the day to do your hard node farms already (unless you're doing a ton of different hard nodes). Ship energy gives you more chances to get character shards, high end gear, zetas and the new ship materials which will directly impact how good your fleet arena team is. Normal energy doesn't have quite as much of an effect on directly impacting your arena team that way.
