Highly disagree. So many possibilities, and it takes time to find the most efficient uses. Add to that everyone's continually changing rosters, there is a lot more likelihood for variation.
It's true, there will be an initial lag, due to its lengthy absence, but eventually it will settle down to the same teams, like 5v5 does.
Changing rosters applies to both 3v3 and 5v5. - ccmooseRising NoviceI love how people argue 5v5 vs 3v3 like there's any objective fact to which is "better" has more "variety" or is more "interesting" and less "stale". It boils down to personal preference and experience--that's it.

We could objectively prove that the same squads are used more often in 5v5, once the data is available on .gg.- ccmooseRising Novice

I welcome some objective analysis. However, unless you can control for league/division, you'll have a hard time making a claim meaningful to anyone in particular. "Ragnarok_COTF;c-2360827" wrote:

Not really. There's a reason people already feel this way. You're the one trying to prove otherwise.- ccmooseRising Novice

I feel like you've lost sight of my point. My point is that the variability level may be different for different players, which means both experiences can be valid across the playerbase spectrum, and that arguing 3v3 vs 5v5 cannot be objective and is therefore not worthy of discussion beyond stating one's personal preference.
So unless you have data that can be parsed to players in a given SR band, what swgoh.gg provides is too broad to go against one's lived experience, imo.
Also, I have not given an opinion as to which mode results in a more diverse experience because I have not formed one yet because I've got 3 rounds of 3v3 vs a couple dozen of 5v5. "Ragnarok_COTF;c-2360883" wrote:

That's a lot of words, but I still say 3v3 has more variety.- ccmooseRising NoviceYou should read them. I haven't said otherwise ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Mathematically, 5v5 would have a greater number of possible teams, since for each possible 3v3 team you also add two more additional characters. :)
Doubt.
If I take Padme+Snips+JKA and add GK and C3PO, I get the same team as when I use Padme+GK+C3PO and add Snips and JKA. There is a lot of overlap"zatho;c-2361005" wrote:

He did say mathematically which is very true. The number of mathematical combinations is much higher for 5v5. What you are describing provides 2 permutations (order matters for distinction) but only one combination (order doesn’t matter)
If we look at only combinations where 3 or 5 characters can only create one set regardless of order then the total number of combinations is much higher in 5v5.
Using 200 characters as a base:
Total number of combinations in 3v3 is 1,313,400.
Total number of combinations in 5v5 is 2,535,650,040
Not even close and obviously you can argue what a reasonable team combination is and whether that should count as a valid combination, but that’s true for both modes.
Until we get a full season of 3v3 completed under the new system we won’t have any meaningful data to make an actual comparison so we wait. The previous season of 3v3 isn’t relevant as the number of auto set defenses is going to be pretty high as crystals were not in play.
