6 dot mod ship impact.

Curious about this as well.

It will stay the same as it has always been. With Poe's ship you only need to farm poe so Poe is 100% of the ships power from characters. With Cassian's ship there are 3 characters contributing to the ships power, but it is not 3x more powerful than Poe's because each character contributes 33% of the power that Poe contributes.

So, if Poe's ship will get a +3 speed increase from Poe, Cassian's ship will get a +3 increase, +1 from each character on the ship.

It would be nice to get official input here, not just speculation

Look at the power difference between a multi crewed ship and a single pilot ship though. They aren't the same. So what actually feeds speed increases into a ship? Is it the power of the ship applied to a base speed.

See it differently.

Dev set the attributes of a ship. By example they decide that this ship has this speed.
Then the algorithm linking pilot characteristics to the ship characteristics do its job and you will have the max speed when the pilot is max out, or almost due to round.

If they still want that this ship has this speed, then when the new 6 dot mod this ship speed will be lower because pilot won't be max out due to 6 dot mods.

I doubt they’ll lower current speed. I’d imagine it’ll be very similar to gear 12+ (slightly higher stats), but probably a lot less drastic. Maybe +1 speed with them all maxed, maybe not.

The 6 dot mods will greatly increase the power of a character

Ship Power is a joke. Multi-crew ships are inflated by a whole bunch of useless abilities coupled with being the last ship to take any action...

Basically 6* mods teams will completely destroy 5* mods teams.
Everything will be a disaster soon

Ship's stats come from both the ship and the pilot.

The things that affect the ship's contribution in stats are: Ship level, period. Nothing else will change how many stats a ship just has from itself.

The contributions from the pilot are determined by Crew rating, which is determined by: Ship stars, Pilot stars, Pilot level, Pilot ability level, Mod tier, and mod level.

Since there are 6 mods, I could see the upgrade to tier 6 giving out somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 ship gp for each mod (though this is entirely a guess). Poe gets 1 speed for every 2 of his G12 pieces which give about 200 gp. Mods could give a ship up to 4 speed if it is one of the faster ones. Poe gets 1 speed for each of his g12+ pieces from the Sith raid. If it's a smaller amount of GP for that mod upgrade then it will give less speed. On one of the slower ships, it will definitely give less speed.
