A possible glitch?

So just a few minutes ago I signed into heroes to play and noticed that something was odd. Some of my dark side clone troopers are only 5 stars and were just like 1 or 2 gear away from gear level 12. Earlier they couldn't be taken higher than gear 11 but now I was able to take them to gear 12 without any issues. Was there an update that I wasn't aware of or was this a glitch?
