Yeah, start the thing, and it will take forever, but the sooner you start it the sooner you'll get your first set of rewards. Even if it takes weeks, you'll get them eventually. It doesn't hurt. It might be much longer than a few weeks. Our guild spent two weeks on our first normal tank raid, and we were further along than you are now.
