if you were going to refund the community for a bug theres alot of other things like client update issues or the server lag issues that occur that would be better to reimburse the community for.
While I think it's silly people are getting free stuff, it's literally a smattering of shard shop currency. Who cares? Take a deep breath. It's gonna be ok.
Unless you pull something like Embo, Badstila, one of the "old" OR toons for Revan or one of the "new" OR toon for Darth Revan, etc.
The majority might have only gotten a few shards for useless toons they alrdy have (= shard shop currency) but there will be also ppl who got a high pull of any characters mentioned above.
1) no refund at all (justified) --> ok
2) refund of 175 crystals for those who can't read/don't pay attention --> uhhh, but ok
3) refund of 350 crystals for those who can't read/don't pay attention AND a free chrom for the others --> ok
4) refund of 350 crystals for those who can't read/don't pay attention --> NOT ok
Unfortunately it looks like they went for the worst option.
This is encouraging for future "accident" buys of stuff and refund demands whenever something gets moved.
Have made a note.
