He will need whatever makes the most money. It doesn’t have to make sense. That’s why we need bo Katan from after Return of the Jedi to unlock GL Kenobi from Revenge of the Sith. At least the previous versions of those characters actually met in the past. The next GL doesn’t need to be tied to Kenobi at all now they are releasing them separately. Could be any significant dark side character from any point in the canon. We are potentially going to have four Ashoka’s soon so Thrawn is still a possibility once the Ashoka series lands which will be around the right time scale.
