Anecdotally, more people do than don't.
My account is from 2016, I quit in 2017 or 2018, and started playing again in 2021. My shard is the fleet shard that got split in half. You can probably understand why I originally quit.

The toxic mafia on my shard has refused to do so because, and I quote, "they think you're a joke w 1k fights". Instead they chain me and lock me out of battles during my payout period. Despite the fact that I changed my payout to be more accommodating to the shard, I setup my own rotbot to not attack people during their payouts, and I only climb during my hour.
