I like a lot of @CaiaAquilea 's analysis.
One place where I differ isn't about CA. being wrong, but just about me being used to something in SW. There are so many times when attackers would be better off attacking something other than the Jedi wielding lightsabers that are gonna deflect their attacks anyway. In this case, it's Ashoka's ship or its engines, but the situation is just so common that I have grown tired of resisting the trope.
As far as I'm concerned, there's a law of the SW galaxy that is as inexorable as gravity that forces people to shoot at lightsabers. Doesn't matter if it's going to be easier to do what you want by targeting something else, the enemy just shoots at lightsabers every time. It's wrong and it's silly and the first 999 times you see you want to scream your lungs out, but eventually you've seen it a thousand times and you just give up.
SW enemies are always going to do that. It is what it is.
