We still launch level 4 pit, tank and sith raids sometimes, to help the lower ranked members. Level 85 players don't participate. In Pit and Tank, once we have the toons, we don't do any damage, so lower ranked members can get rewards.
If you are going to deliberately insist on crippling the progress of your guild, I don't think you have much room to complain.
For example, 50th place HSTR rewards are:
380 GET
1475 Guild Currency
560K Credits
A green loot box
6 Traya shards
vs Tier IV STR First place:
0 GET
1375 Guild Currency
475K Credits
A blue and purple loot box
0 Traya shards
Unless the blue and purple boxes consistantly drop really good items (ha), then you are objectively giving your first place player worse rewards than if they placed 50 in HSTR. Let alone the rest of the guild who are now taking 2-50 in the tier IV.
HPIT vs Tier IV Pit is a little better towards the Tier IV 1st place position, but not by much.
And normal vs HAAT is better, enough that I could almost see justifying running a none HAAT sometimes, but even that is a stretch. You are effectively telling 30 guildies to take worse rewards so that 5 guildies can get better rewards.
Your guild, do what you want, but that is objectively worse for your entire guilds progression. The faster your guild progresses, the faster it will get better rewards in Hoth TB's, better rewards in TW (even on a loss), and the better the members will do at getting key characters sooner (DR, Malak, etc whether first or second time around, instead of having to wait for 4-5th time around).
