Animations Vs game timer

There’s no need to add to the battle timer.

Things are fine as is

They added 4x for a reason, so we might get to the point were they add 8x or higher.

I tend to agree with OP. The animations are cool, but can’t be enjoyed if you’re in a battle that may take over 4 mins to complete. And the closer the clock gets to 0:00, the more annoying it becomes seeing the extended animations.

Now that Squad Arena is irrelevant, is there any harm in extending the timer to 6 or 7 minutes?

Obviously not many fights would last that long. But for new characters, it would be nice to have extra time to re-read and learn some of these extensive ability descriptions during battle.

you enjoy the 1x animations when your game is running 4x? That's nice for you. You're not the only person playing the game. How would a longer timer negatively impact you?

yet the animations are longer and eat up the clock more.

Yeah but the timer didn't exist to limit your battle, per se, but to limit the amount of time you locked out your opponent. It was carried over for convenience, not for need.

Precisely, so what’s the harm in making it 6 or 7 mins?

How about an option to disable your team's animations entirely? You need to see the enemy ones to understand what is happening, but you know what button you pressed. simplest solution is speed up animations, give us 8x speed, or increase the length of time for the battle. I actually counted and Iden took 5 extra seconds AFTER the battle clock had ended to finish her animation. And she used that skill like 4-6 times in the battle. So she ate up over half a minute all on her own just using those animations. and if you have Dark Trooper or Cara Dune in a team? Or worse, vs each other? It's becoming painful. My concern with the 8x speed is that these newer characters aren't acting at 4x speed (if they are then their 1x speed must be 15+ seconds) and so 8x wouldn't fix the problem.

I speculate that the game was released with a 5 minute timer due to the 10 min cooldown between Squad Arena attempts.

Previously in the era of shard chats, people would milk the clock to prevent others from fighting them. That prohibited increasing the game clock, due to abuse of the timer.

When GAC was added, they used a 5:00 timer because that had become the default and what we were used to.

Times have changed. The game has grown. Animations are longer and more involved. Abilities are more complex and require more thought.

So is there actually harm in increasing the timer to 6 or 7 minutes for GAC? It would reflect the evolution of the game, considering the longer animations and increasingly detailed abilities/kits.

But time out teams are most often successful due to infinite loops. Those same teams will time out at 6 or 7 minutes, just like they do at 5 minutes.

The time out teams that don’t involve infinite loops usually involve GLs, which have long animations that contribute to timing out.

Don’t you find it counterintuitive that the devs are investing all this time in making these long animations and kits, but preventing us from enjoying them during the actual fight?
