Datacrons are always going to make "something" OP for 4 months at a time. That's CG's whole plan for them, to push players to expend resources to make certain characters R5 and R7. Doesn't matter how many players quit because of them and it doesn't matter how upset players get because of datacrons. Someone's ego in CG is more concerned about pushing us to rent datacrons and waste resources on them than prioritizing actual content.
Xaereth has a pretty good review of datacrons each season and how they work, so give them a review and see what's what. At least content creators are willing to talk about them and provide guidance since CG apparently has a gag order from some decision-maker to not talk about them. (Datacron Club Rule 1: Do not talk about datacrons! Rule 2: DO NOT talk about datacrons!)
