Just to (hopefully) close this out, I wanted to reconfirm that:
1. The game doesn't have separate servers or shards, but actually different leaderboards
2. We haven't merged leaderboards or culled them for less active players or anything like that
3. We currently have no plans to merge, cull, etc. leaderboards. However, if that changes the players will be well notified.

I don't think it can get much clearer than that, op.
Although I'm sure we'll see someone else posting the same thing tomorrow when they suddenly drop 50 ranks. Because it *couldn't possibly be anything else*

Point taken, and yes it does sound good :)

On a personal level I have no objection to the merging of leaderboards as many players drop out over time. Just notification of it before it happens is all I ask ;)

While I understand the desire to be able to fight the best, you can't all be on my shard.

i wouldn't mind much if they merged it. If they merge it, we can finally see who is the best in the world. Muahahaha....

Well, actually no i wouldn't want that. My rank would drop like crazy if that happens. If only the prize on the lower rank is a bit more rewarding than i wouldn't mind. Perhaps they can make an all out tournament or some sort to see who will be number 1 in the entire leaderboard.

If there is no leaderboard merge, then i don't see any reason for not putting names on leaderboards, so people can know with who they are playing with. Am i wrong? It would also end this argument once and for all.
Also people tend to leave freemium mobile games more often than PC games/mmo. And we rather see server merges in mmo quite often. If leaderboards aren't merged in this game, then it means that half of them are pretty dead right now.
