Yep. It’s likely to be where lots of free stuff is given out in the future. It means they don’t have to pay Apple/Google a commission on in app purchases by getting you to buy it direct.

No I didn't jest. I wish I was witty enough for the implied sarcasm. I was not aware there was a web store. But never bothered to look for one either. With that said the joke is on me, and now I have learned there is a web store with free stuff, Giddy Up!
