You don't some magical "right" to collect top spot payout just because you can beat the team that's there, they can beat your team too.

Or the devs could suddenly decide that it isn't fair to make getting to first place in a PVP arena actually hard and just start handing out 500 crystal "participation" packs just for logging in each day, but don't hold your breath.
