@danrussoa You make some fine points. Refreshing without worrying about cost is a great part of the sniping lesson to be learned. I find refreshing with reckless abandon to be a good strategy :D Clearly the gaming component of this game is all about offense, so why not snipe with the same violent spirit?! I think what it comes down to for me is I want winning to be about the teams/heroes, but it is about something entirely different. Clearly the arena crystal payout is among the most valuable reward in this game, so of course it should not just be handed out as a freebie.
@LastJedi I would be fine with the 2 spot. For me it's all about the crystal reward, not the satisfaction of winning or anything like that because I don't see top payout as winning. Not in the sense that you get from winning after playing a game well anyway. As whales go, I think it's fair to say that you are among the more benevolent : ) I sure wish you were on my shard. This is my first attempt at reaching out, but I may just try your pvp forum suggestion. Great suggestion. Why there's no way to contact anyone in game I still don't understand. And it did cross my mind that it could have been an accident, but it happened one too many times by a couple of the individuals to reasonably be assumed an accident. Sure ignorance could be to blame, but that really doesn't help assuage the frustration. As you keenly noted, I completely loathe my pre payout arena battles...and it's not for lack of "success". I don't feel good about the success. I almost prefer the time when I couldn't beat certain teams. To clarify, I don't use the refreshes anywhere but the top three btw. Below that is, as you said, quite silly.
@jackTHErandom If crystals were not given as the arena reward, hardly anyone would bother anymore. I sure wouldn't. I would have packed my bags a long time ago because I need the arena crystal rewards to get anything done. The progression in this game is slow enough as it is imo--the price you pay being f2p. What's equally silly as having to check your position throughout the day is not being able to tell if somebody is engaged in battle with you. If there's less than 6 or 7 minutes left and someone has already engaged your team in battle you can easily waste 50 crystals trying to start your next clock block. This can even happen in the seconds after your last block. A small price to pay but still silly. No matter how recklessly I spend crystals during arena payout, I always come out ahead so it's not like CG/EA is making money off of me. I think you're correct that the system itself is what's in need of change.
@DieInFire Lol yea maybe that's what they do to entertain themselves in the break room.
@Malthael I miss those too. Now not only do we have to wait 3.5 to 4 minutes for each arena clock to expire and then 5 minutes to battle again, but we have to wait for the stupid AAT cannon animations to run their course for the 15 times they fire on you...each time!
