Even if they would add things later on, JKL didn't have any synergy with rebels... They need to add Jedi... So... GL Kenobi and Anakin incoming?

Look at GL Rey, they expect you to bring Kenobi from Padme and Chewbacca from CLS. They stopped making full teams, it's cheaper to make one broken character. He doesn't even have rebel tag, they want him to be used with Jedi.

There was only one Jedi to ever beat Vader, JKL. Indeed, this iteration they place on the menu for us. Yet Vader, at least this far in game, can be beaten by many Jedi in game. Then on top of them saying, they dont want OR synergies cuz that team is "fun" but then suggest we tear apart GAS 501st and Padme GR to form our new found, long awaited JKL squad. I'm with you man, 1+1=♾

It depends. JKL beat Vader when he was raging while Vader was being calm just trying to talk to him
And Vader beated Luke in Empire Strike back.

So luke would never have beaten a raging Vader like in Rogue one or even against Ahsoka

Almost all big character events are preceded by appetizer characters first, which are then used to unlock the main course, as it were. Maybe this time around they're starting with JKL to then add a very specific team setup later on? RotJ Han and Leia would be the most obvious additions. General Lando too perhaps? Maybe some character reworks to accommodate JKL for Chewie, 3PO, and R2 as well?

I had the same thought this morning. Given the relative difficulty of obtaining the Galactic Legends characters compared to this new character and the importance of Jedi Knight Luke to the Star Wars universe, I can’t help but believe this is not his ‘final form’ (and does not herald the end of this game).

This kit feels different than others previously introduced, and I can’t help but wonder if the developers did get their coding updates complete. If so, as you said, this could be the first in a long series of new characters with new options (rather than the end). I still think there will be a Galactic Legend Luke Skywalker, which may be hinted at in the developers post when they say that his ‘journey continues’ rather than his ‘journey ending’.

kenobi beats vader in revenge of the sith (I know I hadn't his black armor, but he was vader at that point)
