Bad matchup in TW, again?!

It was supposed to be resolved monts ago but it's happen again- two times in a row we are fighting guilds with 10-15m GP advantage. Could someone explain/confirm that it's a normal or is a bug. @CG_SBCrumb
  • Surely it's based on active GP... So if a 90 million guild has say 35 members with 70mil collective GP, they could be matched with a 75mil guild who have 44 members with a similar active GP total...
  • Two thoughts:
First: Our guild was being mismatched against teams 30-40 mil higher than us for the past 10 wars (we are around 90 and were facing 130). We have one guy with 3 mil GP who was our leader who left to get Traya. This time the other team is only 7-8mil above us. I think your top guy heavily dictates how hard of an opponent you get based on your top squad's GP.

Second: And some of the better guilds who are a lot higher will sit their players to reduce their active GP. (Imagine UK Basketball or Alabama Football sitting a starter or two to play the South Western School for Underwater Basketweaving. They know they will get the win because of the opponent being weaker than themselves.)
  • Best way to tell is look at the amount per section you can place teams. The lower the amount, the harder it will be.
  • If you are going by the opponents galactic power with all 50 enrolled in TW, then yes you are mismatched. If you are going by their GP and only 42 of your guildmates are signed up, you won't be going against their full GP, just the opponents GP who signed up for TW. You might have 42 teams on your side vs. 38 on their side.
  • We got 25 teams per zone so full participation from both sides. We are 152gp they are 165 gp
  • There are times we wish we went up against guilds 10-15M larger. Consider yourself lucky. If you are upset now, wait until you get the 40M disadvantages.
  • Definitely it’s still a issue even after devs explanation months ago
  • Sometimes a lower gp guild will use a few very high gp players to set all defense. Both guilds will be in the same active gp bracket but they will out gear you. Also if your guilds active gp is at the bottom of your bracket and the enemy is more at the top expect to take that L.

Active GM can be 25m+ difference as well. So the matchmaking system is just utter garbage. It takes away the fun of TW to be overpowered like this - its no competition. Its just rng (CG) tells you to loose - nothing else. Same happens in arena if you win too much (i won every match for weeks, at some point all your debuffs wont stick and will loose once bc manipulated rng is against your odds completely).

All that bracket etc talks are crap if you look at real numbers they clearly show a different story. The matchmaking system is bad and (point).
