This is the only portrait I’ve gone for as well, and here’s what I did:

1) I sent a good team in to bring one of my opponents teams down to one character.
2) I sent Vader, Boba, and Imperial Stormtrooper in to finish the job, and then I got the portrait.

I think it specifies stormtrooper, and I’m not sure if it has to be just those three. Second attempt works, but you have to win.
