Bravo Team Instinct
(Preface: I used to be the GL for Victory March (VM). I was always going to quit this game when school started for me in the fall.)
Thank you,Team Instinct, for putting it out there for all of us to benefit. You didn't have to do that, and I although I'm gone, I thank you.
I never expected my exit to hastened by such a lack of QA/QC. I'm not trying to jab anyone in the eye, but I am struggling to understand how anyone thought a 50k hitting Rey with a speed near 300 was a good idea? Bad enough to face that in arena but even worse at Node 6 of GW. I have difficulties understanding what the point of extra credits in GW is, if you can't get past the last 6 nodes? Then, in an attempt to "fix" the update, it is decided to that your company will double down on those mistakes and make mods more difficult to drop? As if the 17-21% drop rate wasn't bad enough, those who got in on "pre-crafting 2.0" are light years ahead of their shard. I saw players who were back in the upper 100's suddenly in the top 5 with garbage toons. Essentially, 8 painful months of putting hard earned money into a game had completely evaporated. In one day. Think about that. You put thousands of dollars into an investment to wake up and find it is completely worthless. For no apparent reason.
I used to sum up the FOTP and Anikin nerfs as akin to buying a new Porsche. Then one day the dealer takes your vehicle without any warning and says you're too fast and too strong and we need to rip out the transmission, gear box and your tires because balance. But, that Lambo over there (Rey) she gets more juice. And like an idiot, I stayed loyal to a company that couldn't give two bits about me.
Which is why I wanted to thank TI. Thank you for writing what we have all been thinking and feeling, but with your cred on the line. That's a big deal, and it hasn't gone unnoticed. Thank you.
EA, I understand this is a business and you have real employees with real families who have to pay bills. But, at some point, enough is enough. How long as a customer do you let a company abuse your sentimental attachments to your favorite childhood pastime? And that's exactly what we have. It's Star Wars, which is why so many of us paid good money for our toons. We paid because it absolutely delighted us to play with our toys again. Who didn't feel the sheer delight of maxing a toon much like the way you saved those old SW Kenner Action Figures "proofs of purchase" to send away for not-for-sale figures such as the Emperor and Admiral Ackbar -yes, I'm that old. And I'm not afraid to say I love Star Wars as it is synonymous with my childhood. However, enough is enough. And this is why I am thankful and grateful for the manner in which TI has used their weight in order to benefit us all.
It took 8 months to fix dodging while stunned, I hope you don't take the same amount of time rectifying this one.
Again, TI, thank you from a huge Star Wars nerd. Its too late for me, but I really hope your post inspires EA to fix this for those that stay on.
