SWGOH not enjoyable to play anymore

I used to love this game as it was fun to play, but it's not a game anymore. To keep up with all the events, GAC, TB, TW, and raids its becoming a full time job! People simply don't have the time to commit to earn the rewards to progress.

The naboo raid is simply too time demanding - it's the best part of an hour to do 5 battles.

The new marquee structure that requires you to complete multiple levels every day for a week, again too time demanding.

As well, GAC matchmaking and squish is a joke, and if it continues I'm pretty sure it's either gonna result in less players signing up or just people quitting the game.

I'm gonna carefully consider whether I'm gonna continue with this game, or whether I'm gonna hang up my light sabre and move on to pastures new.

  • Everything they have done lately has a purpose behind it. Fleet has become increasingly more difficult which equals less crystal income for players. Similar with the GAC Kyber squish. Removing crystal income from players slowly. Added a new assault battle blocked behind new releases and R9 while removing the Endor AB. Less rewards for players to increase spending. I do believe they have a revenue issue (no data behind it) and are cutting back what players receive.

I'm not entirely sure if this is actually a game or a sociological experiment to see how much we'll put up with. Leviathan has made fleet into a coin flip. It's made GAC into a coin flip. It's made TW into a coin flip. And CG either doesn't know or doesn't care that there's a problem.

But you say hits on a good point: they've made it clear they regard "time spent in the game" as the ultimate metric of success. So turning all these events into giant time sinks is progress.

This is really funny. I've actually had this same thought before about whether this is actually just a huge study on gaming and gambling behavior and if they're actively trying to see what would get people to quit.

Science Experiment,  LMAO,  I love it.
      So true.
I honestly don't know why I keep playing.

  • Make sure you write a bad review on the stores!
It’s the only way they’ll pay attention!

Oh I shredded them years ago with a 1* review & a vocal review of all that sucks.

I still play but its worse every day.

No argument from this corner. The game is becoming more and more of a time sink and requires more and more investment with little to no actual benefit.

There are at least a dozen minor events that are years old at this point - EE, SR (1 and 2), Fleet Mastery Events, Contraband Cargo. And a few that are almost a year old, like the Ultimate Journey event. All of them are regular events that players have finished at and still manage to get 3 stars. There is no reason why we should have to keep playing them manually, especially when you start taking into acount events like Galactic Challenges, Conquest, TB, TW, GAC, Raids, whatever else, running concurrently.

Then we move on to farming and roster development. Up until a while ago, you had more than enough opportunity to farm what you yourself want while at the same time farming new metas or different teams to use in TBs or Raids or wherever. Now, however, we have significantly less freedom in that regard. With the current Raid system, you have to farm specific characters and use specific strategies, only for those specific characters and strategies to become obsolete a few months later when a new Raid is released, forcing you to farm a whole new set of characters. New Assault Battles are being released that require you to have specific characters at a minimum gear/relic level for each tier.

We are constantly being pressured to farm specific characters and squards, and not only that, but minimum gear and relic levels keep rising. Minimum of R5 to even attempt combat missions in TB, minimum R5 to attempt the important tiers of the new ABs, more and more R8 and R9s being required for GL toons and ships, more and more R5 and even R7 requirements for Legendary toons (GI, JJB, Bo, Baylan). Yet, nothing is being done to consistently alleviate progression so as to get to those minimum levels. What do I mean by consistently? The new ABs, for example, they have wonderful rewards at the higher tiers, but the rewards are not static. Instead of both types of Signal Data (or whatever), you only get one or the other. And there's also the fact that the old ABs have additional rewards - Zetas, Finishers, etc. - that the new ones don't. The new raid system? By the time you and your guild have developed the teams necessary to move on to the next crate and therefore better rewards, a new raid is released and you are back to trying to get the same rewards as before at best, and getting less rewards (due to lousy characters, ridiculous RNG, bugs, or for whatever other reason) at worst. In that regard, they seem to be making roster growth harder. The whole "no Forest Moon in November" fiasco? If it's just a case of that particular AB not running in November because the dev team is figuring out a new schedule to fit ALL the Assault Battles in one month, fine. But if it's a case of rotating older ABs each month (e.g., no Forest Moon this month, no Ground War next month, no Military Might in January, etc.) because there are too many ABs (and therefore too many rewards) a month, one less old AB  may not seem much at first glance, but add the rewards all up at the end of the year, it's a significant loss. Or heaven forbid, gradually replacing older ABs with new ones. Need I finish that thought?

Then, there's lack of actual testing when it comes to bugs and lack of common sense when it comes to reworks. Yeah,... I'd rather not start on those issues.

If I've said it once, I'll say it again. The only reason I keep playing, besides awesome guildmates of course, is because it's Star Wars. And even that is starting to lose meaning because of everything I mentioned.

  • Totally agree.   Will we ever get a real quality of life upgrade?

I have a 12.7 Mio. account and I realize more and more that I don't want to invest this huge amount of time. Atm I do only the minimum in the game. I think a lot of guilds thinking about mechanics how you can safe time for the members. Like only deployment in TB without doing any CMs. Ofc you will lose some reward but it's not the best game mode for rewards...

I think we have to find ways how we can improve the game without CG. It's sounds crazy but this is the way LOL
