There was an offer of 330 shards of a random toon for 1k crystals.
I have a baby alt -- not even level 60 yet. I grabbed the pack with that and got Ventress. Since I had a good number of shards already, it ended up being a bit over 200 shards, therefore a bit less than 5 crystals per shard.
I could have wished for a rarer or more powerful toon, but even what I got was a great deal. That kind of economy is even better than refreshing a hard node for 25 crystals while using free energy. In fact, I was actively working on Ventress at the time trying to get ready for the Mother Talzin event (requires 5x5* NS), so this allows me to immediately move on to my next priority, which is a value in itself.
