Bug or crazy Vader Zeta ability?

I'm facing a team in GW that's got a weird bug/ability I've never seen before....

Fighting against: Vader lead, w/Shoretrooper, RG, Boba, EP

I'm using an Akbar led rebel team. They hit me with a bunch of damage over time stacks. I use Akbar's dispel and they go away while another rebel attacks (EP in this case). As soon as that rebel is finished attacking, all the DoT's come back.

NOW... Yes I know Vader's Zeta lead allows for DoT to return when they EXPIRE... but I'm using dispel which should be different no? And not for nothing... but why am I facing this team in GW? They're clearly a 50K plus team and I'm ranked around 100 in my Arena shard with only 42k power. That's a stupid matchup.

Anyone seen this before? It's really screwing my ability to finish this last battle.

  • As said u must defeat Vader, interesting zeta ability by the way.

    @RJ__Brando i sent u a pm few days ago, if u could please take a look. :)
  • Or just fire off Tenecity Up fast. I tend to make sure my Rex's Squad Discipline is off CD when I clear a fight just in case.

    It appears that doesn't help...

    Even Rex cleanse + Tenacity Up is not enough to remove Vader DoTs I'm afraid. Once they're on you, they're on. Also given that Leader abilities persist even when the leader dies, those DoTs may be permanent until the end of the encounter.

    Yes, you must get your tenacity up BEFORE anyone can place a DoT for the first time.

    Yeah, but if your Rex can get Tenecity Up on you before the Dots, you're safe, and effectively neutered the build, unless a slot goes to Baze or Ventress, and that's a slot that won't be doing DoTs.

    What I meant was, if your team already has DoTs on them, and Rex does Squad Discipline, then the DoTs go away and your allies gain Tenacity Up, but then those DoTs come right back and stick, even though Tenacity Up is supposed to "resist all negative status effects."
    However if your squad has Tenacity Up first and then Vader tries to put DoTs on you, the DoTs won't stick.
  • Or just keep Vader Stunned/Ability blocked and he never gets to use his pesky AoE. Or just have a tankier team that can survive through some DOTs. A guy on my shard was using a Vader Zeta lead in the arena with Vader, EP, RG, magmatrooper, and Savage. All g11, team was 50k+ but, it wasn't able to hold up against the higher DPS teams or Rex teams. 3 DoTs being constantly refreshed isn't really enough to get you in trouble, he needs more DoT characters with him for the full effect. Better for longer battles, but quick arena matches weren't really optimal for it. The TM removal from his leader ability was actually a bigger issue whenever I faced his team, but I always won and my team had 40k power the first time I faced him. Now at 43k. He just recently switched to a Zeta'd Cody lead with full clones. Rex and clone sarge were g11, echo and fives at g10 and cody was only g9. It was honestly a little more troublesome for my team simply because of Rex's cleanse + tenacity up, but still beat him both times I faced him. Seems as though he's been having some fun trying out the Zeta's and I do enjoy the clones as characters personally. But Zeta'd vader lead isn't really going to be standing up to burst damage in the Arena unless you have other characters that can apply DoTs before your enemy can get tenacity up.
