Can someone explain the formula for Defense/Armor?
The way armor use to work at least I thought was there was a set #, and the damage from an attack subtracted from that #. So if an attack would do 1000, but the defending char had 100 armor, the attack would do 900 damage. But the armor is now % based, so does it do that % of the damage? Like if you had armor of 20% the above mentioned 1000 base damage would do 800 damage?
And what is the max defense bonus for mods? So the max set bonus for defense is 5%, with 3 set bonuses that's 15%, a 5* maxed diamond mod is 11.75% defense bonus, the arrow can also have a 11.75% defense bonus, the triangle can also have a 11.75% defense bonus, and the plus can also have an 11.75% defense bonus, thats a total maximum primary stat defense bonus of 62%. Is that right?
And how does that substat flat defense bonus factor into the % based armor? For instance I have a 5* maxed mod with +18 defense. And how does flat # armor penetration work with a % based armor?
So I've also done a little testing with the mods to see if I could figure out how defense translate into armor. It looks like I am getting somewhere around .14% armor per 1% increase in defense. Its a little higher for something like Royal Guard that is around 0.16%+/-0.01 and a little lower for non-tanks at around 0.13%+/-0.01, And with the static +defense, I am getting around 0.12% armor (Royal Guard is about average in this, so no bonus for tanks on flat +defense). This had lead me to the conclusion that people may be vastly underestimating static +defense mod sub stats. For instance, I have a +18 defense substat mod that provides more armor than a fully maxed +11.75% 5* mod with defense as a primary stat.
Any more information people have about defense/armor and how that translates into damage would be useful.
