Can Someone Explain These Developer Mod Recommendations?

Hello everyone,

I know most people may not be concerned with the in-game recommendations, but I’m just curious about why things are the way they are in the following cases. I’ve noticed that the in-game mod recommendations for certain characters, particularly Kelleran Beq and the new Gungans, often do not align with the official kit reveals. For Kelleran Beq, the developers specifically mentioned using Protection primaries in the official kit reveal, yet the in-game recommendations suggest Health primaries. Similarly, the Gungans are heavily focused on Protection, but the recommendations mostly suggest Health primaries.

After all, the developers should know best how to mod a character. I would like to understand if there’s a specific reason or design choice behind these recommendations. Perhaps there’s a bigger picture or reasoning that I’m missing. I would greatly appreciate it if a developer or someone from the team could shed some light on this. Additionally, if anyone from the community has an explanation, I’d love to hear your thoughts as well— and don’t come at me with “they just don’t know,” because they must have had something in mind.

Thank you in advance for your responses!

Best advice I can give (playing 6 years now)... is completely ignore whatever CG recommends... go to swgoh.gg and look at the best mods for the toon you're interested in. Shows what all the top players are using,  Typically they will have had the toon a lot longer than you and have experimented and talked in their top guilds what works best. Thousands of top players using it daily beat a few devs, every time. Sometimes they align, sometimes not.
