Can we at least get an explanation?

It was intentional. They wanted to push consumables, and the only way to do that is to force players to use them by creating very difficult boss battles. I wouldn't mind using them if they were free in the consumables nodes, like data discs, but they weren't, so no thanks.

Now if they could just dial down the difficulty in the DS fleet battles in TB to a sane level too...
