Can't decide who to plug in.

I have zmaul, ep, sith troop and nihilius in mind for my arena team. I am 1 zeta mat away from having my second zeta upgrade but not sure what toon to put it on. I am going back and forth between dooku and sid (kind of favoring dooku) but now im hearing people say zeta savage. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  • As you have sith trooper, nihilus lead Zeta would probably be the best choice.

Ive thouggt about that but seeing I have zmaul lead in trying to get a good team with him as lead and use the second zeta on a non-lead toon.
  • Savage is sounding like a pretty decent option these days I keep seeing people talking about how hard he is to take out, he may not be the best option but I believe he would be a good choice.
  • Savage Zeta is actually super useful. It make his unique really come together imo. Facing him w/o the Zeta you can just debuff him and stun him permanently with shock/daze, but now everytime he get criticall hit, he'll cleanse all the debuffs on himself AND then gain all his bonuses for being hit after the crit is registered. He won't be as much use against a Nihilus lead, but he can be very useful against every team that can crit lol. He's very hard to kill with his Zeta, although I'm not sure how he works in a Zeta Maul squad as he would also gain stealth when he is crit which won't allow him to be hit as much.

Also, Dooku's Zeta really doesn't fit well into the Zeta Maul squad because part of it is granting him Critical Immunity for 1 turn when he counter attacks, but he can't be critically hit in stealth anyways.

Sid is always a great choice as it makes him far more versatile in any arena squad, and so does Savages. I'd vote either Sid or Savage personally, although I think Savage is probably more difficult to face on defense.

Thanks for the awesome input on this topic. That really helps make my decision easier. I like using toons you don't see in every squad but im trying to stick to meta somewhat. So savage sounds pretty cool. If I use savage then I should probably swap out sith trooper for sid otherwise savage will never get hit.

Sorry but I think this is one of the worst advice... at least for arena... nihilus lead zeta teams get literally annihilated. They just don't work at high end arena

They must work on offense as someone on my shard climbed to 4th with a nihilus lead of all sith (still modded for crit chance/dmg lolwat) and they were pretty slow, but when my guildies and I fought him his team barely moved. Sure Palp basically healed back to full when he used his basic attack on my taunt, but that was one of three attacks his team made as a whole, and my team isn't usually able to break top 5 (Sniped 4th from him though, so I gotta thank him for that). But on defense I think he dropped extremely far down overnight.

Many teams work on offense, but are way too nuanced for the AI on defense. Someone on my shard put Nihilus as lead within a few hours of the unlock, and promptly switched back to their old team, just replacing Palp with Nihilus. A big problem is that the speed just isn't there.
