Isn't this only an issue in Kyber 1? Does it happen in other Leagues /Divs too? I'm sure if they could have fixed it (with minimal effort) they would have. It started happening when the squish went haywire too, and they only band-aid fixed that.
I'm not a mathematicnist, but my theory is that the original issue is that K1 gets negative squish, whereas any other div 1 at the end of the season gets positive squish. This lead to a squish imbalance. They tried to rectify that caused other issues. It looks to me that it's 'sort of' working and they don't want to play around with it anymore. Really sucks for these accounts and the guys at the top of K1 though.

Yeah this is an issue. CG has allowed us to become Mad Max World. Where, we mafia the environment. When run well though, they work. It's more often than not the rogue individual that refuses to respect payouts that cause the trouble; rather than the shard syndicates themselves. However, yeah there are lots of stories of jumped up little toerags who refuse to accommodate players, selfishly and vindictively acting like self-appointed gods.

Well from my position/shard it's more the rogue individual that refuses to respect payout times that are the issue. My mafia works well and is willing to take on new members that respect the rules and want to hit a high spot. Your 'Solution 1' would be negative for our shard. We only police players that ignore polite advice and are hitting shard members whose payout is closer than the non-shard member hitting them.

I think our discord tool would be able to counter this. However, if it couldn't it would make things quite difficult. On busy payout hours our shard is a bit like an airport. Planes landing in a planned order, and other planes waiting to move up once and take the landed planes spot. Me for example, I share my shard spot with one other (thought they're not that active now), but I'm following 3 in (and 1 rogue) from the previous hour. So, I'm following those planes in, making sure to stay out the way until their payout, and then I'm moving in to land myself. Co-ordination isn't the enemy, it's jumped up toerags that refuse to be fair.

Definitely no! You're asking for things to be more RNG?! I really don't want ship battle to be 'more' RNG. I have enough of off-meta counters. I also don't see this as a solution. You could waste all your attempts with a bad RNG. Whereas a group, will have a much more average RNG and get what they want anyway.

I don't understand.

Periodically shuffle up the shards. Keep active accounts together and base it on total GP of all ships in the account.
I guess periodically shuffling up shards would work to a degree. On average we'd all get fairer hand. It'd take longer for the shard mafias to form too. And definitely a thumb in the eye to the toerag mafias. A shame though for the nice guys.
Basing it on GP, definitely not. This would be very easy to manipulate. As of now you only need 1 capital ship for ship arena. Whats stopping me from starting a new account, only getting levi with the necessary ships and stopping there. I'd have a tiny ship GP, but be as powerful as anybody in the game. I can't think of any question where GP is the answer........other than "I found a lump in my bon bon bag" Then definitely the answer is "Go and see your GP!"

Wouldn't this be detrimental as a whole? As of now 24 players a day per shard can get max payout. However, with a GAC style competition only 1 in 8 can. I don't think there are 200 players in my shard that actively are trying to get number 1 spot.
I do agree with your premise though. That some ship shards are just wrong. Maybe, there should be some sort of shard policing? However, it reminds me a bit of old style professional wrestling. We can pretend it's real as long as we don't talk about it. CG can pretend it's fair and nice as long as they don't look into it. As soon as that happens.............there'll be steroid trials, concussion lawsuits and AEW............and nobody wants ship shards to become AEW!
