Changing guilds during raid join period - can you join raid?

If you move to a new guild which has a join period open on a raid, will you be able to join that raid?
Anybody moving to a guild where the raid is open for damage has not been able to participate in that raid. However, with territory wars (which also have a join period) one could change guilds during the join period, and still join the territory war. So how does it work with the join period on raids?
