They aren't that bad but I think CG made a huge mistake tying them to the order 66 raid that they have no connection too. Would have been much better to dig up more clones or jedi, and then have pirates have their own events or even next year's raid.
In fairness, I don’t recall Separatists fighting against the Sith Triumvirate either, but that’s a thing in the raids. The problem arises that they’re an incomplete faction that’s been shoehorned in for financial motivations
The sith raid did not have limits in regards to what factions could be used in the raid
It didnt make sense for sith trio either but neither did CG try and have somewhat lore related teams as they do in the new raids. And yes its for financial motivations, but why not just have more clone troopers or vanguard marquees, and then late this year or early next year you could have pirate themed events. The whole pirate thing reeks of either being forced by Disney to add skeleton crew content ASAP or they were hamstrung by needed something for the next era and just threw them in.
