Pirates, as a faction, are an interesting aspect of Star Wars that hasn’t yet been explored. It’s not a bad thing they’re being added, the problem is how they’re being used to paywall the new events and such.
I, for one, am very interested to see the characters added. Ithano has an awesome design, as do many others that have flown under the radar. Also, pirate clone trooper? That definitely sounds interesting.
If that happens, the community will solve the raid again. If CG lock O66 to full teams only, there will still be accessible options available, just fewer of them.
Too late, I’m fairly certain they’re punishing undermanned teams. I’m sure your post about the raid is helpful in its own way, but some of your suggestions about solo Nest and Tarkin achieving high scores might be flushed down the toilet
I completely agree. The pirate faction won't be fully released until October (Maz Kanata's 3rd conquest) and by the time the new marquees are all farmable, the raid will be halfway through its lifetime. CG mistimed the release of pirates horribly. That's why I really hope they don't nerf the teams available now, that's would be an incredibly bs move.
It's not the pirate faction themselves, it's the absurd way CG is connecting them to the current raid, AND, we're obviously waiting for real pirates because as a leader Ithano sucks, plus he wants unreleased pirates on his team.
CG continuously creates problems for us to buy our way out of. This is a more egregious instance of it though, since we don't have a real leader and two teams of pirates we should be able to use in the raid aren't even released yet.
Not to mention, the regular version of Hondo is Neutral, but the GL version is DS. So CG's just given up on the neutral tag apparently, but then, they give up on a lot of things and leave players hanging.

I have to yet to hear someone explain to me how Pirates being in the O66 raid "makes no sense" but OT-era Tarkin leading prequel-era Dark Side Clones against LV and Dark Clones does.
It didnt make sense for sith trio either but neither did CG try and have somewhat lore related teams as they do in the new raids. And yes its for financial motivations, but why not just have more clone troopers or vanguard marquees, and then late this year or early next year you could have pirate themed events. The whole pirate thing reeks of either being forced by Disney to add skeleton crew content ASAP or they were hamstrung by needed something for the next era and just threw them in.
The sith raid did not have limits in regards to what factions could be used in the raid
In fairness, I don’t recall Separatists fighting against the Sith Triumvirate either, but that’s a thing in the raids. The problem arises that they’re an incomplete faction that’s been shoehorned in for financial motivations
They aren't that bad but I think CG made a huge mistake tying them to the order 66 raid that they have no connection too. Would have been much better to dig up more clones or jedi, and then have pirates have their own events or even next year's raid.
