The active collusion between the bosses, fillers, and underlings can keep someone out of the top 10, even 20 if structured right. You'll find yourself battling the same people over and over outside of their payout and locked down for 15 minutes at a time if you're unlucky enough. The underlings and fillers somehow know exactly when to battle you once the other one is done. That's because they're all chatting on line or discord, remember?
So how do you fight this? Well first off, don't become one of them. Don't give into the collusion and join the herd. You'll just be an underling or filler, begging for scraps thrown to you for loyalty to the bosses. Instead, change up your team. There's always one character you can sub in that will wreck an opponent. You see the same teams in the same spot right? You know subbing in Yoda will mess up the block of Zaul players. And then you change to Death Trooper to keep the Jedi team's R2 stunned. Rex leads coming up? Time for B2.
This absolutely enrages the collusion arena because now underling #14 can't stop you and you've just beaten filler #11. They'll have to coordinate a lockout with three new members because you've jumped ranks again. But because you swapped to a Rex lead now there's only two guys near your bracket willing to waste their crystals.
You have to fight the collusion. Build smart teams and change it up depending on the situation. If you have at least 95+ in speed secondaries to throw on characters you'll be able to work your way into the top 5. Even the bosses can be beaten, almost any strong offense team can beat a defense team because of the AI.
In ending, don't join the collusion. Don't help the whales get richer and their crystal pyramid scheme grow taller. Fight the Arena the way it was meant to be fought, and have fun doing it!
