Potency down is easiest against the boss, kill everyone but Rey and Ben, then just keep hitting Ben. He can't die while Rey is in the green and you can inflict potency down 

Think the wording is wrong here- think the debuffs have to stick.

If you were killing the targets with the debuffing abilities, the debuffs weren't applying. This has been known for a long time. The debuff feats require the target to not die for the debuff to be counted. Before you declare the feats not working properly (I completed both easily using GMY and B2) make sure you actually understand how they are supposed to work. 

If the order of operations is damage first, you might be killing them before attempting to apply. This is why the F34T disk was created. You can hold off until you get that one.

I'm going to be as respectful as I possibly can given the circumstances but I myself do not believe the issue resides with me or my lack of knowledge or understanding of the feats or wording. 

"ATTEMPT" means to try, it may succeed or it may fail but an attempt was made and thus it simply counts. Just in the same way if you were to try and run a 42km marathon but you failed to do so, it still counts as an attempt to run a marathon. 

In SWGOH application of debuffs depend on a variety of factors including potency and tenacity, the ability being used and quite possibly the team setup, but I'm assuming you already know this so I'll skip this part. 

When I was doing the Potency Down feat, I used Rey, Ben and Baby Cal only over 3 DIFFERENT fight nodes and I had Rey use Lifeblood on Cal, used Cal to Heal Rey and used Ben's basic ability only and yes eventually they died due to Ben being strong, but perhaps you can explain how over 3 different nodes, using the same 3 characters versus 5 different enemy teams, with those 3 fights lasting almost the entire 5 minutes, and Ben having used basic attacks several times versus every single enemy on the enemy team, be it tank, healer, support, attacker - he bashed them all -- why at the end of every node did the feat counter not move at all - even when I saw the Potency Down debuff applied over a two dozen times over the course of those 15 minutes?

The feat clearly states "attempt" which means failure to apply does not matter and I know you are right about that if you kill the enemy - it doesn't go towards the feat and the counter but I urge you for a brief moment to think about how stupid that is in itself, since even if you kill the enemy - you still made an attempt to apply the debuff during the attack?

Why are you dissing me when the problem does not originate on my part, since I understand basic english (not a native speaker) and followed the instructions to the letter. 

Maybe, just maybe, CG should simply do a better job?

I’ve not experienced that at all.  Had no problems with either feat.  As some have suggested, you won’t get credit for attempting the debuff if the target dies from the attack that would apply the debuff.  Also, if the target evades the attack, there won’t be an attempt.

As stated above, the new Feat Data Disk is designed with this in mind. Stalls the fight purposefully by making characters impossible to kill, thus allowing all the debuffs that time allows.

Order of Operations - the debuff won’t land if the enemy is outright killed. Perhaps you’re right that something may be up if you’re certain you aren’t outright killing the opponents, but you’re mistaken about the point.

Same logic why Malak first special, which “deals physical damage THEN dispels buffs” doesn’t dispel the buffs if the attacks is dodged. Order of operations. It doesn’t happen all at once.

On a side note, POW’s Omi makes quick work of this feat if you have it equipped.

Thanks for that input, it helps but you can find a comment from me where I go into detail about what went down and how - and them dying was not an issue but I get it -- HOW EVER, my five cents is that if you have to create some data disk to ensure a high success rate with regards to feats they added for players to finish in an event they created with the abilities of characters you may own in mind, then they are not doing their job correctly. It's a **bleep** poor design and it's 2026, this is an easy fix and for once I would like something to fall to the benefit of the players to make things abit easier.

Hmm yes Order of Operations makes sense, and your logic is infalliable in this regard, I can accept that argument if the target dies before debuff is applied but in my opinion the wording is poor and invites confusion to be added when interpreting.. 

But it seems like this would be such a simple fix? You used an attack where the required debuff in all cases would be attempted to be applied, thus it counts towards the feat?

Does no one think it's ridicoulus they had to create specific items so you can finish the required feats they added to the game? 

That's like a doctor giving you medication for treatment of an illness  and you get side effects so he gives you another pill to deal with the side effects..
