Yes i can agree on the fact they didnt post this link anywhere officialy on these forums but still....
I believe the point the OP is trying to make is : why does he have to navigate a 3rd party website to find information that should be posted to the official forum. A 3rd party site should not have more info then the official events section, yes the timing can be a little off, but there are always things posted to reddit with no intention of that information being put on the forum. It's just an issue of consistency, no game breaking information, but just inconsistent communication.
