CT "Boil" - (Kit Idea) - New 212th Squad



Hello everyone,

Writing another kit for Clone Trooper Boil of the 212th. What bugs me is that most not-so important Clones have clone trooper digits, but Boil and Waxer seem to have been left out.

Alright, let's get into it:

Name: CT "Boil"
Tags: Light Side, Clone Trooper, Tank, 212th
Description: Versatile Clone Tank that becomes stronger with 212th allies
Model: Phase 2 Clone trooper with Blaster and yellow 212th armor markings.
Power:29347
Speed: 141
Max Health: 41211
Max Protection: 49839

Abilities:

1) DC-15S Carbine (Basic Ability - Omega) Final Text:

Deal physical damage to target and grant a random Taunting ally 10% protection. If no allies are Taunting, Boil recovers 10% protection.

2) Provide Cover (Special Ability - Omega) Final Text: (Cooldown:3)

Dispel all debuffs on target ally. Then, other 212th allies gain Evasion Up for 2 turns. If no allies are Taunting, Boil Taunts for 2 turns and grants target ally 35% turn meter.

3) Fortify Positions (Special Ability - Omega) Final Text: (Cooldown:4)

Grant target ally the Fortify unique buff for 2 turns which cannot be prevented or dispelled. If Boil uses this abillity on himself or another Taunting ally, all non-Taunting allies gain 30% turn meter.
Fortify - +50% Tenacity and Counter Chance. Cannot drop below 50% health.

4) Ghost Company's Finest (Unique Ability - Zeta) Final Text:

Boil gains +30% Defence and Offence for each active 212th ally. If Waxer is present, he gains half the amount. Boil also gains 5% turn meter whenever a Clone or 212th ally takes a turn which cannot be prevented. He also gains 50% turn meter and +50% Tenacity (stacking) each time a 212th ally is defeated.

  • In the game, all abilities for all characters are always ordered by: basic - specials (one or more) - leadership (if present) and unique (one or more, if present). Yet here you decide to order them basic- special- unique and then another special. What torture is this??!! The part of my brain that handels pattern recognition is screaming in agony!!!!!!
    The kit itself is actually rather nice. I do have some issues with it, namely wording and a few actual kit design choices. But it does look really nice.
    DC-15S Carbine (basic):

    This ability is good. But the wording is a bit weird. Personally I would word it like this:
    Deal Physical damage to target enemy and another random Taunting ally Recovers 10% Protection. If no other allies are Taunting, Boil Recovers 10% Protection instead.
    P.s. "Ability" is spelled with 1 "L", just throwing that in here...

    Provide Cover (Special Ability):

    This ability is the one I do actually have some problems with. This is supposed to be a 212th team right? I'm assuming with General Kenobi? The most taunting character in the entire game? I don't think it synergies enough for something like that condition. Personally I think it would be nice if this was a low cost taunt. Like: 1 turn taunt, 2 turn cooldown and an effect when he doesn't gain taunt, something lik this:
    Dispel all debuffs on target ally and all 212th allies gain Evasion Up for 2 turns. If no allies are Taunting, Boils Taunts for 1 turn. Otherwise he gains 35% Turn Meter. (cooldown: 2).
    Another idea was to have him react to other taunts from allies. Something like this:
    Dispel all debuffs on target ally and all 212th allies gain Evasion Up for 2 turns. Boil Taunts for 2 turns. If another 212th ally gains Taunt while Boil is Taunting, Boil dispels Taunt from himself, gains 35% Turn Meter, and applies Protection Up to both himself and Taunting 212th allies. (cooldown 3)
    Or maybe even a combination of the 2, but you get the general idea. The ability just needs to do something more with this. Either give him effects when he doesn't gain taunt or have him react to other taunting allies in some manner.

    Fortify Positions (Special)

    This is a nice ability. I do think the Fortify buff can be a little overpowered. Especially since it can be placed on any ally (not even limited to 212th only or have specific effects for 212th allies only). But it's limited to 1 ally so it's overall pretty good. I do think the turn meter bonus when he places it on himself or a taunting ally should be for all non-taunting allies (not just all other allies). Is a little better and more explicit. But that's all.

    I Guess We're the Best (Unique Abillity - Zeta)

    Only have 2 issues here: 1, he has no unique synergy with Waxer, and 2, the wording.
    I know you als have a kit idea for Waxer (looking at that one later), so I''m a bit disappointing the 2 don't seem to have any unique synergy. Like Fives and Echo do. Especially with the name of this ability.
    Other than that the wording is kinda weird. I suggest this:
    At the start of battle, Boil gains +30% Offence and Defence for each 212th ally. If Waxer is an ally, he also gains these bonuses.
    At the start of each other 212th or Clone ally's turn, Boil gains 5% Turn Meter, which can't be Prevented. In addition, whenever another 212th ally is defeated, Boil gains 50% Turn Meter and +50% Tenacity (stacking) until the end of Battle.

    Overall a nice kit idea.

    Thanks for the reply and yeap, totally thought about adding a synergy for both Clones just forgot to update it. Yeah, wording was a bit sloppy on some of 'em but this bit sounded super funny with how many times you used the word Taunt: Boil Taunts for 2 turns. If another 212th ally gains Taunt while Boil is Taunting, Boil dispels Taunt from himself, gains 35% Turn Meter, and applies Protection Up to both himself and Taunting 212th allies. (cooldown 3)
