No, the Mod system sucks. I don’t have time to spends days learning a system that has no visible indicators of performance.
Also… I should be able to get a decent score with the auto-mods… but I put the team on what I think are my fastest mods and they got destroyed.
The character stats are the visible indicators of a mods performance. No you shouldn't ne able to get a decent score with auto-mods as they are not optimized and also you clearly are very new to the game, and really you should be on the older raids as they are more your level.
