Dark Side Currency is just a cash grab

Does anyone else have a serious problem with light/dark side currency??? I just spent MONTHS building up garbage characters like Tuskan Raider and Embo to Relic 5, only to need to grind out HUNDREDS of other meaningless missions to earn credits and be able to participate in the event I just spent months to unlock??? Why don't you just require a fee and be transparent about your money grabs? I'll apparently be here for the next 6 months grinding dark side missions to finally unlock Lord Vader.

    If it takes you 6 months of farming DS nodes to get tickets for any GL…

    Elbow is one of those characters I always intend to work on, but wind up putting onto the backburner. But every time I run into him in GAC or TW it reminds me that I should have finished him ? Yeah, he's far from trash and, in fact, is actually quite good!

    Because they don't want to wait 4 weeks to finish it off which is how it takes without dipping deeply into crystals/cash?

    From memory:
    700 tickets for just the ultimate
    140 (i think) for Tier 4-5
    180 Tier 3
    120 Tier 2
    120 Tier 1

    1260 tickets after you spend months to unlock the event. If you're lucky, refreshing up until it hits 100 per refresh (stop at the first 100), you get about 50 tickets a day, so 25 days or so at that rate to get those tickets. It's a VERY unnecessary punishment for spending months to unlock an event. And that's exactly what it is, a punishment or an attempt to make people pay to avoid it. No more, no less. There's absolutely not actual game based reason for a such a thing.

    You level your 5 toons for a legendary, you can complete the whole thing in a day. Yeah, GLs are a major update, that's why you gotta level 15 of them to higher heights. 22 in the case of JML since most do JKL then go right to JML. That's should be effort enough, no?


    So someone being impatient and spends crystals to finish it faster is somehow a cash crab by CG? Right.


    Yes. Dark side tickets were designed primarily or solely with the intent of generating profit.
    Wether a player is impatient or not, has nothing to do with this fact.

    This will probably come as a chock to you but generating profit is not limited to the farming of dark side tickets, it is the purpose of all business enterprises in the world. Using such a broad definition for a specific aspect of the game is pretty pointless, you might be better off looking up the definition of “lack of self-control”.

    What you don't need gear for other characters? Just spend the free crystals you paid nothing for like I am. They even made crystals more readily available to players.

    So edgy.

    Now working (and it feels like work) on the ultimate, and all I will say right now is at least Bad Batch is fun to use.


    I was being slightly sarcastic. My only real gripe is that he's not much fun to play with as his leadership isn't particularly flashy.

    He does however beat everything on offence. So if that's what CG designed him to do, he does that just fine.

    Regarding GL tickets. It's an opportunity to farm lots of gear. I don't think another hill to climb after months of grinding already is necessary. But it what it is. ?

    What exactly are you hoping to accomplish here?

    Anyway, GL Tickets are essentially a way of delaying unlock, or to encourage spending to get past it. So yes. Idk why they exist otherwise. But you can push through them without spending.

    Just a thought but while you are grinding out the tickets required you can also grind out useful gear. It’s hardly wasted effort.
