I love that battle. Just goes to show what an accomplished lightsaber duelist Maul was. True, Sidious wanted him alive (for reasons revealed in Son of Dathomir), still, Maul managed to land a kick on the Sith Master. Had Sid not been infinitely stronger in the use of the Force, had it all been down to a pure duel (nb with a Maul who was clearly more mature and cunning than in episode 1), who knows...
