It's about balancing the game, he's OP enough as he is, if his lead applied to Nihilus and Traya it would have some ridiculous impact on the game, nobody wants to deal with all of that.
Similarly some other faction tags are not granted like the Vets don't have a resistance tag, and although it makes a little bit of sense for Han, Chewie definitely deserves it, but then his AOE with Finn lead would cause problems. Just take it for what it is and stop asking for trouble
The only problem with his leadership not affecting Sith is that JKR's does affect Jedi. It creates a power differential between the two that shouldn't be there. If CG actually cared about game balance, they would either expand Darth Revan's synergy to include Sith, or they would contract Jedi Revan's synergy to only apply to Old Republic.
This ^^^. They made JKRs kit synergize with all Jedi, regardless if they were part of the KOTOR time period. JKR can make use of GMY, GK and Ezra, etc which provide key roles to make JKR teams so OP and also allowed(s) players to mix n match/theory craft with JKRs kit and all other Jedi. Why limit Darth Revan’s kit to only working with Sith from his time period, and only a select few of the Sith from his time period - mind you Traya, Sion and Nihilus are also from the KOTOR time period. Doesn’t make sense for them to limit Darth Revan’s kit synergy to only the Sith Empire tag because of the above stated reasons.
Allowing Darth Revan’s kit to synergize with other Sith, like JKR can synergize with all Jedi, would go a long way to making Darth Revan competent on defense, and would put some much needed theory crafting options back into the game.
