But data is how they listen to the player base. Data is pretty much the only way to listen to a large group of people on any topic really. Sampling social media posts does not yield more accurate results because they are inherently skewed towards the negative side. Happy or content people tend to stay silent. When someone feels it's worth the time to make a post on a video game forum, it's usually because they want to complain about something.
Data is just data, numbers, just an indicator, you can't trust data alone.
Yes you can, it depends on the accuracy and the relevance of your data. Going door to door to talk to people about how they feel about a subject is just another way to collect data. - CarlinRules3 years agoNew SpectatorIf we don't like datacons, don't use them. I gave them a shot and I hate them.
I've boycotted them for the last 6 weeks and couldn't be happier. I was kyber 1, 9.4M gp. Yes I'd like to stay competitive, but I refuse to use, pay or play with something I don't like and isn't "fun".
If we all want to send a message to CG STOP using datacons in any way shape or form! Or just quit. It's the only way we'll get through to them - drathuk9163 years agoSeasoned NoviceI don’t like the move of re-roll materials to tw only. We need less pressure driving people to higher gp guilds not more. We need less pressure on high gp guilds to shift the guilds focus to primarily tw not more. Not everyone enjoys pvp stop making decisions that make pvp more important.
If you insist on continuing down this road than normalize the rewards. The same re-roll materials should be awarded regardless of gp or win/ loss. There is enough emphasis on tw through brains and other rewards. The strength of a guild shouldn’t help or hurt an individual in gac more or less than their opponents based on the strength of their guild.
Oh and something pve related being developed would be great like a tb, raid, ab, or a game mode that doesn’t overly impact pvp modes. - wharp953 years agoSeasoned Novice

I agree at some point but data without context is just numbers, the way CG collected data is shady, they didn't reveal their source, we don't know where it come from, if you are using data as proof, then reveal them or nobody will trust you. "wharp;c-2379063" wrote:

The whole post was shady. Data-free assertions that are not supported by any tangible evidence. Meathead asserted that Datacrons are "fun" - based on what?- Uhdea3 years agoNew Observer

I find it fun to count money and I am sure CG feels the same way…. - HKFactory3 years agoSeasoned RookieI still firmly believe that Galactic Legends should not get any special bonuses from datacrons, and that those should be reserved only for characters that could actually use the boost.

I am a TW lead of a top 10 guild. And Datacrons did the following:
- we lost 20% of our players (10), and we lost less than most others.
does necessarily not equal this:"Bruellhusten123;c-2378871" wrote:
DCs already caused a drop off 10-20% of the playerbase in the 8m+ range that cares for TW. And yes thats mostly spenders.
What's your source for this "data"?
Edit: maybe I'm misreading and you are applying the term player base (suggesting all of the SWGoH players) to just mean your guild members.
I have no factual data outside of my own guild, but numerous guilds completely broke apart in that range without new guilds showing up. Guilds like VG lost almost 50% of its players since DCs came out.
CAWs lost Caw Elite and could fully integrate the leftover players into their guilds on top of recruitment.
MAW seemed to be relatively stable, but some dropoffs there as well.
I suspect the actual numbers are even higher than the 10-20%, but thats what I can say with a good confidence..
For Shot First: We had a super low retirement/dropoff rate. About 1 player every 1-2 months. Since datacrons came out, we got 10 new players in. Now SF is in kind of a unique spot being high up there AND with a lot of F2P players. We put in a ton of work to give them guidance and show a path how they can still sort of play without dumping money on the game, but yeah quite a lot of dropoffs came from there."HKFactory;c-2379070" wrote:

Lets say they made it for characters that need the boost only. Then the participation on dcs would drop even further, because nobody is getting those toons to r7 for a four month bonus. Characters that need them are not in the range of Darth Vader or Revans or GAS, they are like CUP or Gamorrean Guard or any C-Tier requirement
Im sure GLs will disappear once all of them had one at a time, but going that low?- Uhdea3 years agoNew ObserverOmicrons work…Datacrons don’t. Time to pull the plug.
