Does Jyn need Potency Mods?

I have 5* and gear wall g8 (mk5 furnaces) so far she is amazing but i dont see the need for potency...your gonna use her stun baton 1st to control tm, get advantage so your getting a crit next 100% (thats 10% potency) and so on and so on. She buffs herself mainly, and has no debuffs except when in lead, and that grants +35% potency... and it specifically says "when enemies suffer debuffs during rebel allies turns they have a 50% chance to become exposed, this effect cannot be resisted"

So potency really doesnt do anything for her. Personally im not gonna dump potency in her just to get that 1st tm steal...its either gonna work or its not... i would rather put it into speed and get more chances to control tm over duration of battle. But thats my 2 cents.

While I agree she probably has enough potency, 35% is good against most targets and I wouldn't bother molding her except from maybe raids, she does need it for a reason. Her trucheon strike removes TM and can stun which both require potency.

Isn't the stun based on if it crits? Also, doesn't it remove the TM as long as it hits? It doesn't give a %chance in the description.

TMR and stun are negative status effects that require potency to stick.
Aalya has a similar stun on crit and it can and does get resisted.
teebo can remove TM with his basic while stealthed and it can and does get resisted.

When no % is shown in the ability that just means it will process 100% if the condition is met however it still goes thru the potency vs tenacity check unless it says that the effect cannot be resisted.

The only debuff not effected by this is tenacity down and hk defense down and IMO hk defense down is a bug.

Bottom line jyn uses baton 1st, gets advantage, hopefully gets another turn (irregardless), uses aoe, gives an ally a free turn, and aoe crits (100% via advantage) 5 times, has 50%+ potency now and and mods for potency over 50% are wasted space...and this is still 1st round...

I am confused. Are you saying use her basic first to gain advantage? How would that give her another immediate turn?

Unless I am missing something her AoE attack and her basic are the only ones that give advantage. Her trucheon strike, which I think you are referring to as her baton strike does not give advantage according to ability description.

Im sorry...got that all wrong...baton hit, basic, aoe... thank you cayching that... think ots time to focus on new years eve... still i dont think going crazy on potency with jyn will do much...at least no more than 50% is max because that 1st aoe (assumin you have advantage) will take it past 50%... i hope you got the idea.

Ok... I agree no potency mods needed.

Oh my 5* g8 lv 85 jyn in gw hard nodes has taken tm from a sunfac b4 right off the bat, so since mine starts at like 3% potency idk if potency even affects the tm steal because 3% is less than the 15% min and she was not lead so idk how the tm steal works...fyi

Oh you are not running her as lead?
