Does the Scorch Marquee really give out rewards a second time?

I'm onlx missing 8 shards to complete Scorch, but his packages are only available til Thursday. So I'm kind of dependant, that the repitition of the marquee event gets me shards, if I don't spend crystals/cash on the missing ones. I'd do it, but I don't want to waste crystals/cash, if I get them for free next week.
It's unusual, that there is a second  round with rewards, but contrary to the other DS clones, the game says, there will be for Scorch.
