Star Wars ep 9 opens an early viewing a month before it's scheduled to open to the general public. To gain access to the early viewing the movie theater requires you to pay 5 times the price of a regular ticket.

However when you show up to see early access of the movie there are 40 other people there who paid the normal price, but the movie theater lets them in early even though they only paid the normal price.

So you, the person who paid 5 times as much to get early access, feel cheated and that the money you spent for the early access was pointless. You spent the extra money because you wanted to see the movie a month before anyone else, but the theater decided they were changing the rules at the last second.

This is the way some of us are feeling about Darth Revan. We paid, saved, hoarded to get early access to this new meta before everyone else. Now we feel cheated as more and more people are getting access to him by paying the bare minimum.

When JKR was released only 6 people in my guild were able to get him. With Darth Revan, 27 of us are on pace to get him.

Would you honestly say that the extra number of people in your guild getting him was because the event was delayed 4-5 days or because they got burned by not getting JKR the first time and wised up and started stocking their crystals and Farming the new OR toons upon release?

I also dont like the theatre example. In the game, FTP can save up and use those savings to get any character. There is technically no official "you must pay for this character". As some ftp people get more organised and received profits for their planning, they can then do it again using the profits they won from months in the meta.

They did not say that you must buy these characters. P2P chose to do so. no one told them that they couldnt access darth revan otherwise and if the rumours were false and he didnt come. p2p could not justify asking for a refund, because they are not owed anything

How about when Jedi revan was said to be arriving so soon and few were prepared. That outrage caused people to go full steam ahead on this revan and now plenty more are ready despite the harder requirements (we have less nodes this time)
To me, one of the worst was when Rebels are ruling the meta and they released more rebel content in Empire month. Now Troopers have aged greatly, but the month wasnt fun to read on. I think Thrawn was near this time too, but cant remember. People complained about him too as an awful toon

Id actually say this is comparable to most other times toons are released

No cause this time the whales are mad that the F2P will be getting this toon, and whales love to complain more than anything

If you spent money to support this game would you want exclusive stuff if even just for a few months before the f2p ppl?

You already do get exclusive stuff, when you bring a marquee character to 7s g12+ right away while everyone else has them at 3s.

Maybe you never realized that.

There was no official release date. It was made clear that March 21st was an internal target date but that it would probably not be ready to go on that date and would most likely launch within 1-2 weeks of March 15th (the date of the post). They deserve criticism for it.

They gave a very clear statement on Monday saying that there was a 1-2 week window where the event would launch. They are still very much in that window. Seems legit.

No..."highly likely" in the next 1-2 weeks....and it "could" launch on the 21st.

They made that statement after the video and saying it was posted in error.

Were the packs released on the date they were in error too? I'm sure a lawyer would say no..just like they would agree they are still within their 1-2 week window...but we all know the packs are released to end the day the event ends.

A lawyer might also agree with waiting from Wed night until Thursday afternoon to tell everyone it will be delayed. Anyone that deals with people know that is not how to do things.

I don't understand people defending this behavior by them. Is it just to be contrarians? Fanboys? Trolling? Those are solid reasons.....thinking this is actually the way to go is not.

Agreed with a lot for what you said. The packs are one of the biggest tale take signs in my opinion that crap hit the fan and that they got off schedule. And if they weren't on schedule and released them anyhow it comes off worse because it seems like an underhanded way to make you pay for something you could get through farming.

Nope not trolling read the beforehand comments much is already there. Secondly we've gotten crystals and things for a server issue for a couple hours. The delay could be 1-2 weeks. I don't think it's unreasonable to help lighten the mood.
