- With poe droidz, qgj lead can kill 88 half the time. And another half, expose only hits one or two peeps. Or against qgj non lead and a tank, other team will can possibly survive with enough health to come back with a vengeance. I have won against droids/poe/poggle with droids/qgj/tank. Lots more viable compositions now on offense. And so far defense is in general not as impenetrable as before.

@CG_JohnSalera Thanks for the reply. But i can't understand how this change would solve the balance between fast, high dmg toons and slow, low damage toons. If the purpose of this wasn't to eliminate the one-shots, then this worked as a huge buff to fast/high damage teams. Heroes like ig88 and GS, Rey, that there only counter was to kill them ASAP, now got a "buff" with protection. While slow heroes like boba, stormtrooper, JKG, nightsister initiate, etc etc. which already had 100 counters, now they have 100+1.- I'm not sure why people keep thinking that running the same droid team as everyone else running droid teams is somehow unique and not meta.

No way! Poe is the best tank for droids. The reason this is, is because Poe exposes, leaving IG-88 for sick aoe's.
Until you come up against a speed dps team and they kill 88 before Poe gets to go. RG is better at preventing that, but it can still happen.
I love my droids, was glad to be able to use them again. But, they are beatable and still are bad on defense. The video posted was an all offensive droid/geo team, of course they will wreck on offense. But, they will get destroyed on defense against a speed meta team.
I have dusted my droids off and used them in arena and they do great on offense, but can't hold a spot, and do not do well vs certain dps teams. Today I went back to Dooku/Daka/RG/GS and I'm doing just as good on offense and holding spots a little better.
This update has opened the meta allowing for more diverse team comps. Seeing a lot of different characters on my leaderboard now. I feel that it is a good change. Droids are not OP, they are good but beatable just like almost every other team out there. When we get to lvl 80 and Max abilities my opinion on that may change."Alexone;314277" wrote:

Dude the only character that still one shots is Rey. GS even with Poggle lead doesn't one-shot nothin anymore! I leave GS now among the last. The AI has to focus GS and the next high damage attacker on your weak toon in order to kill it.
I lost a Ventress to one shot by GS calling ig88. Ventress was exposed too, something that isn't uncommon because those droid teams run a Poe as well. But lets assume they don't. Watch the video above, look how close the very first attack by GS was close to kill someone. Poe Poggle teams are known for their speed too. How hard is to finish off an almost-dead hero, after his hp reached red with 1 attack? Would you think that Darth Maul would now be viable and not a subject to "kill him before his turn" anymore? But even if you don't kill him, can he still one shot? Cause if he can't, i doubt he'll ever get to attack 2nd time with his speed, especially vs HK47 led droids, that attack like machine guns. This update made slow heroes struggle more. The big reason behind all this was "Now heroes would be able to use their utility before they die". While this statement is true, now using an ability block by some heroes like boba fett, would make little difference with all that protection increase. It would've been a lot more useful if it was with pre update stats, but not now.
PS. It just crossed my mind that some of these "utility" heroes happens to be the droids too! Aoe+single (poggle) ability block, speed down, offense down, defense down, turn meter gain, healing immunity. Those rusty buckets have everything! Everything! No matter what new heroes, even droids they add, those 3 droids along with poggle are god tier.- Well you don't need to run same droid team. I have had equal if not better success with hk (l), 86, qgj, 3star RG, and GS, than a regular droid team. Well tbh I dont have poggle, so I dont really have a Droid team.
Even after 7 starring 88, I still have yet to see him get a turn. Against AI! I have tried poe and rg.
And hk damage has apparently been reduced a couple days ago. And I think GS was also stealth nerfed? His damage is average now. Unless he buddy pulls 86, he is mediocre. I can't wait to replace him. I am only 30 shards fr9m 7s him, and I am thinking to change gears. He not that good, at all. - Unless you have every major toon geared and at 6+stars, and you already spent 30 dollars on arena refills trying different combinations, I think it is way too early to call a new meta. In the meantime hAve fun with the discovery. I have been trying at least 3 different teams a day. And my only 2 7s toons are so far not part of any of my good arena teams. Still fun and no complaints.
- Honestly the droid team Dps damage needs to be tuned down some. Post update I'm seeing 9k from droid teams. That's still too high. It really needs to be lowered. Droid teams don't even need a healer to beat another team, just use call assist characters, expose characters and their damage does the rest.
EA will do something eventually. All the droids and I mean ALL the droids are too easily farmed from arena, Catina and GW shipments. So is Poe and Poggle which work really well almost too well with droids.
Why farm harder characters that suck when you can farm free easy to get driods and own everything? If I was a new player that's exactly what I would do and I wouldn't have to spend a dime. - With a poggle buff yeah.
But pay closer attention. And see if any of the droids are insane dps other than 86. 86 is scary right now and could have a place on many non droid teams. He works well for me with hk lead and no other droid/synergy.
Also I think it is good that a f2farm team is fairly competitive. All you need is a little extra edge to make a harder farm or p2p worth it. Leia, Ben, rey.
Also Fyi there are a lot of viable comps without a healer, now. Protection does that. Also many viable muti healer plus tank comps. It is pretty cool that this is even possible. - Why can't droids have a place and be competitive in this meta without people calling for nerfs? The whole point of the update was getting away from the one shot speed teams that you have to have to be competitive. Now the meta has opened up and droids are actually playable again and people start calling for nerfs. We are not even at the cap yet! No one knows how well they will do when everyone is lvl 80 with maxed abilities.
The droids are a great option for FTP players to be competitive. Why shouldn't it be relatively easy to farm up a team that can compete at top levels? I could understand if droids were unbeatable, but they aren't, by a long shot. They also can't always beat the dps speed teams, a lot of it still depends on RNG.
