Echo fix now makes cody useless + clone nerfs

So the latest patch "fixed" echos assist ability:

Fixed a bug with Echo's Follow-Up ability that allowed allies that weren't currently taking their turn to grant Echo Assists.

As cody relies on these assists to drop his assist cooldown, they now practically ensure he will only be able to recoup 5 of the 8 turns if everything crits.

This is not only a massive nerf to cody who is already arguably weak and non competitive, this is a nerf to clones in general, a pretty big one. Cody is already extremely squishy and slow, his only concession was his assist ability.

Clone teams were just on the edge of viability before this. This will now seal them from any high level competitive play.

I strongly request a rework to these abilities especially cody. Clearly any of the balancing done on these characters were simulated using echo's defect.

This is now p2p toons nerfed severely in 1 update. We need some answers why this keeps happening. These guys were not even OP by a long shot, anyone can attest to this.

  • Why would I omega By the Book now? Really... an extra heal on attack between turns? NO ONE EVEN ATTACKS MORE THAN ONCE BETWEEN TURNS ANYMORE

    So the omega doesn't do a single doggone thing

    More proof that balance was done with original ability in mind.

    Not to mention, that even if you fix ALL of this, you still have to give Cody +30% protection and health, and reduce the cooldown on his specials by 2 to make him properly balanced

    2.5 days left in the week. Can we have a fix by Monday please?

    Or preferably sometime prior to the day after you make them freely available to others...

    Hopefully we hear something soon. At this point I would love to just see something like, "we've read your feedback and will have a detailed response on Friday with the weekly update." Anything at this point just to acknowledge what many of us are saying.
  • So I run Rex (L) Echo 5s Rey RG in arena all totally maxed. I spent a lot of money and time investing in these characters to get them there. When mods were first released I held off on spending until they were suitably reduced (I now think they are working fine aside from the abysmal drop rates) once the mods were fixed I spent on Cody and maxed him from chromiums and then spent weeks gearing him and clone Sarg super excited that I could finally run a viable full synergy team in all game modes as that is something I had always wanted to do since starting in December. Now since this update all this money and all the weeks of farming have been worthless. My fully maxed clone team is not viable in either high end GW nodes or arena. To say I am unhappy would be an understatement. Cody is the toughest character to gear I have encountered so far and now not only is his AI really bad his assist attack is now poor and whereas before it could one shot characters now it doesn't even take protection off a fully modded Rey. I have run this team multiple times and it has NEVER scored multiple criticals since this "fix" to Echo and so Cody is usually dead before he gets to use it again. Because of the squishy nature of Cody and Echo (even with HP and protection mods) Rex is the only choice as lead so my massive investment in both time and money has resulted in a team worse than the one I used before. As a paying player these premium characters should be a cut above those available for FTP and yet of my premium characters only Rex, B2 and Sun Fac are viable. Echo is ok but still a bit squishy. Maul, Tusken Shaman, Grievous, Wedge, Geo Spy, Zam, Fisto are all totally unusable in their current state and represent literally hundreds of pounds of investment yet standard FTP characters are 100 times better, this is not value for money. I love this game, it is what I do in my free time and I want to support it with both my time and money but when I keep getting garbage characters or ones which show potential and are then nerfed I am seriously starting to question whether it's worth me to continue to invest. I know I am not the only one feeling this way and would seriously advise @EA_Jesse @CG_JohnSalera to start considering reworking and improving these premium characters and giving your paying player base value for money
  • FYI Wedge and Biggs are nuts together now. Toss in Lando, Leia, and either STHan/Han/Anakin, and it's super nuts :)

    Hope to say the same about Cody soon, when they fix him!

    Maybe they will help echo a touch at that point, too.
  • Yeah to be fair, the synergy they made with Wedge and Biggs is really cool actually and seems effective. Codys kit and synergy is pretty darn good too its just how hes balanced and his AI is a big issue. Rex has the same AI issue. Im confident they can fix it, they did a good job with JKA and recently biggs and wedge. Echo of course needs some love too.
