Pretty ridiculous that "Epic" characters like Malak and General Skywalker, who require an INSANE amount of resources, and multiple legendary characters to unlock, let alone gear, should then be stuck behind a GET1 gate to 7* (because they're mostly useless until then). In fact, we know that GAS was originally supposed to be a 7* unlock. So what happens right after GAS ends? An epic event returns, accidentally gives out shards, and creates one of the biggest controversies and headaches for everyone (devs included) involved (and that's saying a lot).Clearly, our cosmic overlords (the Force?) have determined that Epic characters should just be 7* with this bug. So embrace it. I'm sure you have the data, find the number of F2P players who got General Skywalker this go around. Probably not very many. Find the number of people who unlocked Malak, but still don't have him 7*. And if CG is worried that they're "giving" them away (LOL) there's still kryo pieces, relics, mods, and all sorts of other gates (with many more to come I'm sure) to ensure the grind continues. Spenders on the other hand? I'm sure they'd be much more willing to keep spending when you throw us bone every once in a while, instead of very obviously squeezing players just a little harder. My thoughts, do what you will with them :smiley:

The developers are very out of touch with reality. Malak was useful at 5* albeit diminished, but General Skywalker is a flaming dumpster fire at 5*, expensive to gear, glass jawed, noodle swinging loser.Locking such a character who needed so much behind a currency the developers TOLD us was for gear IS the problem... I don’t see this as karma or divine intervention. This is a move similar to politicians. Create a distraction. Check. Provide communication that you’re working on the distraction. Check. Provide a solution that seems to “make good” on the distraction. Check. Move on totally ignoring the major dumpster fire people were screaming about before the distraction. Check.I have a hard time not seeing this scenario being the case to divert attention away from the absolute garbage 5* GET1 locked GAS situation that has the community raging, rightfully so given the steep requirements and power creep that make G11 irrelevant. They really need to move G13 to the 7* requirement, not G12. That’d be a start in the right direction but still a far cry from righting the situation.

It's simple - after GAS event MANY people stopped spending, MANY top (and obviously spenders') accounts are listed for sale at the moment. Everyone unhappy with the direction game evolves should just stop spending and hope CG will notice that.

Sry but anyone who thought spending money on a 5* unlock would get him advantage against current meta on relic7 should rethink his managment.

Every toon in this event is quite useful in GAC or elsewhere and should be on the list.

So blaming CG for a need of whaling for GAS is just stupid.

In fact, I don't believe we knew for sure until the patch came and people looked through the notes to find out it was a 5 star unlock. Only to have CG confirm like 1 to 2 days prior to the event, after people found out on their own it wsa a 5 star unlock. a few days prior...

We were already **** in preparing. It was - a low blow to be honest. They knew no one would have invested heavily getting ready leading up to if they knew it was only going to be a 5 star unlock. And don't be naive thinking it wasn't intentional to hide that it was a 5 star unlock. That would have crippled the bottom line. I know, you know, and they sure as hell knew it. Don't play dumb.

And - you know i'm 45/85 and it sucks looking at a character that won't be ready for months...still... and the marquee character needed... this is a mess.

Disagree. There's no way to know people wouldn't have invested the resources even knowing he'd unlock at 5 stars. In fact, everyone in my guild fully anticipated a 5 star unlock.

Even if it wasn't announced, the last epic was a five star unlock. If you assume the new one is going to be different based on nothing, the problem is your baseless assumptions. Not CG communication.
