(Speculative) Era of the Galactic Civil War (in 2027)
50 years ago in 1977, 'Star Wars' blasted onto cinema screens around the world and transported audiences to a galaxy far far away for the first time. The battle between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire remains at the core of Star Wars.
Episode 1:
Bail Organa
During the waning years of the Galactic Republic, Bail Organa represented Alderaan in the Galactic Senate; he was very close with fellow Senators Padme Amidala and Mon Mothma, and was a vocal critic of Chancellor Palpatine and his growing emergency powers. In the wake of Order 66, Bail witnessed the massacre at the Jedi Temple firsthand and rescued survivors Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Following the Rise of the Empire, and Padme's death, Bail would raise her daughter, Leia, who would one day become one of many heroes to topple the Empire's reign.
General Dodonna
Jan Dodonna was a veteran of the Clone Wars who served in the Republic navy, eventually the Imperial Navy. However, unlike his fellow admirals, Dodonna grew disillusioned with the Empire and defected to the Rebellion, forming the Massassi cell on Yavin IV. A wise calm strategist, he orchestrated the attack on the Death Star which resulted in a victory for the Rebellion. He put his fellow Rebels' lives above his own, sacrificing himself so they could live to fight another day. Emperor Palpatine respected him.
Episode 2:
General Rieekan
Carlist Rieekan was a gruff and stern Rebel Alliance general who took his duty and work seriously. Rieekan was a flexible commander who allowed his men to come and go as they pleased as long as they followed the Alliance's security protocols. Rieekan regarded the Alliance military as a volunteer force. Alongside Leia, Rieekan commanded the evacuation of Echo Base on Hoth, waiting until the transports have left before he escaped.
Corporal Jobin
Mon Mothma's son, Corporal Jobin fought in the Battle of Hoth commanding 4th Squad and establishing the perimeter defense of Echo Base. Before the battle, he created a holorecording for his mom. He and his squad defended the ion cannon from Imperial Forces, and were intercepted by Darth Vader. Jobin stayed behind while his squad escaped, sacrificing himself in the process. Mon Mothma didn't receive her late son's holorecording until a year later.
Episode 3:
Pilot Luke
Growing up on Tatooine, Luke Skywalker had experience with vehicles, from his Landspeeder to his T-16 Skyhopper. During the Battle of Yavin, Luke was allowed the chance to pilot an X-Wing, and he would deliver the fatal shot that ensured that Rogue One's sacrifice wasn't in vain and destroyed the Death Star. Afterwards, he, along with Wedge Antilles, would form Rogue Squadron in their memory.
Rebel A-Wing (Crew Member(s): Captain Rex)
The RZ-1 A-Wing Interceptor was the lightest and fastest fighter in the Rebel fleet. The A-wing was ideal for missions that required speed: hit-and-run raids, surgical strikes on capital ships, and intelligence gathering missions. A capable pilot could emerge from hyperspace, engage the fighter's powerful suite of imagers and sensors, streak around the objective at top speed, and vanish back into hyperspace all while enemy ground crews scrambled to get fighters airborne.
Journey Guide:
Luke Skywalker's X-Wing (Crew Member(s): Luke Skywalker (Farmboy), R2-D2)
Callsign Red 5, Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 first flew this X-Wing during the Battle of Yavin. On approach to the exhaust port, Luke turned off his computer and relied on the force to hit the target and destroy the space station. Following Yavin, Luke and R2 would maintain ownership of the X-Wing, participating in various missions with the Rebellion and Rogue Squadron, and even personal missions like Dagobah. After the Battle of Endor, Luke would keep the X-Wing as he flew around the galaxy, finding Emperor Palpatine's artefacts and remnants of the Jedi Order in order to rebuild it, even keeping it during his exile on Ahch-To.
Galactic Legend:
Han and Chewie
The legendary smuggling duo Han and Chewie were causing trouble for the Empire long before they joined the Rebellion, working for high-paying clients like Jabba the Hutt, evading Imperial Star Destroyers, gambling in games of Sabacc and combining Han's wit with Chewie's strength to get out of the toughest jams.
Conquest:
Tantive IV (Crew Member(s): Princess Leia)
Inherited from her father, Princess Leia’s corvette saw use with running blockades, delivering aid to those in need while also covertly aiding the Rebellion. The Tantive IV eventually escaped Scarif with the Death Star Plans, which proved crucial for the Rebellion’s victory in the Battle of Yavin.
Galactic Chase:
TIE Brute (Crew Member(s): Magmatrooper)
The TIE Brute was a class of TIE Fighter notable for housing an extra pod with more powerful laser cannons. As it was larger than the standard TIE Fighter, the TIE Brute had life support systems and its hull was reinforced with Transparisteel.
Sentinel-class Shuttle (Crew Member(s): Stormtrooper)
The Sentinel-class Shuttle was more spacious than the Lamba-class shuttle, and could house 75 units. The shuttle was frequently used by the Empire during boarding parties and planetary occupations.
