Of course it was, it's a means to promote more spending on the +pass and to buy the boosters to beat battles. Hopefully they dial it back so atleast normal is enjoyable again but full relic teams are struggling to beat simple matchups I can't imagine how difficult hard is then this is by far the most I've struggled in normal mode.
