Excess gear and other items.

Could it be possible to maybe have random times when you can sell back excess items for credits. I ask this since I have been playing for a long time and between farming and all the daily work I have tons of items that are of no use. Other players I'm sure are in the same boat. It could be done along the lines of the credit hiest event. It would help all players and add an outlet to get rid off excess items. For example I have 12000 of 1 item and it grows everything I farm. Help please.
